Broadband costs
Many telephone and internet providers now offer several services 'bundled' together at a discount price and these tend to offer the best value for money.
Which? calculates that if you switched from a BT landline with Anytime calls costing £15.45, and BT's Total Broadband Option 1, costing £15.99 (excluding initial promotion), to a Tiscali Anytime Talk landline and broadband bundle, you could shave £132 a year off your bill."
Bad Connection
Residents in a small welsh town are suffering multiple broadband outages .
The village’s broadband outage follows reports earlier this month that the people of Hull suffered similar problems with their broadband, causing them to be without access for the best part of a weekend. It is thought that outage was caused by complications encountered during work being carried out to upgrade the network.

Switching Credit Card
Compare prepaid travel cards
Prepaid travel cards can be cheap, they "no longer charge for the card, putting more money on to it, paying for purchases or a monthly fee. These include those from CaxtonFX, Tesco, Travelex and FairFX, which normally costs £9.95 to buy but is free through moneysupermarket.com.
They all charge for withdrawing money from an overseas ATM. The cheapest is FairFX at €1.50 (£1.25), while Travelex charges €3.75 (£3.12) and the Post Office is £2 plus 2.75% of the amount withdrawn.
Watch out for the exchange rate you get with the card. It claims the best rates, but CaxtonFX guarantees to give you the best exchange rate on the day - if you can find a cheaper one elsewhere, CaxtonFX will refund you the difference."
Prepaid credit cards
Research by Fairinvestment.co.uk revealed that there are currently around 2.3 million prepaid credit card holders in the UK and it predicts this figure will rise to seven million by 2010 as people realise the benefits of having a prepaid credit card.
'You top up the card with money and then use it to pay for goods, safe in the knowledge that you can never go overdrawn or into debt,' said Phil Alcock of Fairinvestment.co.uk.
With the holiday season upon us, families can use prepaid credit cards abroad in order to monitor their spending.
'Prepaid cards can be used just as a normal credit card, so on holiday, you can use the card to pay for meals out, activities, petrol for the hire car and to withdraw cash,' added Mr Alcock.
The prepaid credit card market will be worth £4.5 billion by 2010, according to Fairinvestment.co.uk"

What broadband speeds could the UK copper loop manage?
Are you mobile or fixed?
Naturally, I questioned the salesman a little more closely. Just how good was their 3g network in my area? 'Very good', he claimed - amongst the best areas in the country. Seeing as the deal was nine pounds a month cheaper than the fixed line contract I had just signed, I agreed to take the dongle."
